Terms & Conditions of Sale
Last updated: August 2026
These Terms & Conditions apply when you purchase products from Stow & Settle through our website, by telephone, by email or following a quotation.
Stow & Settle is operated by Bedcare Ltd.
Please read these terms carefully before placing an order, particularly where you are ordering bespoke or made-to-measure furniture.
Nothing in these Terms & Conditions affects your statutory rights.

2. Our products
We supply upholstered seating including:
- Banquette seating
- Straight seating
- Corner and L-shaped seating
- U-shaped seating
- Upholstered benches
- Storage seating
- Seating with drawers
- Seating with lift-up storage
- Bespoke and made-to-measure seating
Some products are offered in standard configurations while others are manufactured specifically to the measurements and specification agreed with you.
Product images are intended to provide a good representation of our furniture. However, differences may occur between images displayed on a screen and the finished product, particularly in relation to colour, texture and natural variations in materials.
3. Bespoke and made-to-measure products
Many Stow & Settle products are manufactured specifically for you.
A product may be considered bespoke or made to measure where its manufacture is based on choices or specifications particular to your order, including dimensions, layout or other custom requirements.
This may include:
- Custom lengths, heights or depths
- Corner or U-shaped configurations
- Customer-specific layouts
- Skirting cut-outs
- Special drawer arrangements
- Other customer-specific alterations
We'll manufacture bespoke products according to the final specification agreed for your order.
4. Measurements
Where you provide measurements, you are responsible for ensuring they are accurate.
Please follow our Measuring Guide and measure carefully before submitting or approving your order.
You should consider:
- Wall dimensions
- Skirting boards
- Alcoves
- Radiators
- Sockets
- Doorways
- Window positions
- Flooring
- Pipework
- Other furniture
- Access for drawers or storage
- Any other obstruction that could affect the installation or use of your seating
Where you've requested skirting cut-outs, you are responsible for providing accurate skirting height and projection measurements unless we have expressly agreed to undertake the measurement ourselves.
If you're unsure about a measurement, please contact us before approving the order.
Nothing in this section excludes responsibility where an error has been made by Stow & Settle.
5. Bespoke order approval
For bespoke orders, we may provide you with an order summary, quotation, specification, drawing or other confirmation before manufacture begins.
Please check this carefully.
You are responsible for checking the agreed:
Dimensions · Layout · Storage · Fabric/colour · Skirting details · Other bespoke requirements
Where we request approval, manufacture may not begin until approval has been received.
Once an order has entered manufacture, changes may not be possible or may result in additional costs.
We'll discuss any requested change with you before incurring an additional charge.
6. Fabric and colour
We make reasonable efforts to display fabrics and colours accurately.
However, colours can appear differently depending on your screen, lighting and surrounding interiors.
We therefore recommend ordering a physical fabric sample before making your final selection.
Minor variations in shade, weave, texture and appearance may occur between samples and finished upholstery, including between different manufacturing batches.
Where several upholstered components form one order, we'll take reasonable steps to achieve a consistent appearance.
7. Prices
Prices displayed on our website will indicate whether VAT and delivery are included or charged separately.
The final price applicable to your order will be shown before you place the order or within your bespoke quotation.
Additional charges may apply for options including:
- Drawers
- Lift-up storage
- Bespoke dimensions
- Corner/U-shaped configurations
- Skirting cut-outs
- Specialist configurations
- Delivery requirements outside our standard service
Any additional charges applicable to your order will be communicated before the order is confirmed.
We won't increase an agreed price after a contract has been formed merely because our costs have increased. Consumer contract terms allowing unilateral price increases can raise fairness concerns.
8. Payment
Payment must be made using one of the payment methods offered by us.
For products purchased directly through the website, payment will normally be taken when the order is placed.
For bespoke quotations, we may offer different payment arrangements, which will be explained before you commit to the order.
Your furniture will not normally enter manufacture until any payment or deposit required at that stage has been received.
9. When your order is accepted
Submitting an order or quote request does not necessarily mean we've accepted it.
A contract between you and us is formed when we expressly accept your order, for example by issuing an order confirmation or otherwise confirming acceptance.
We may decline an order before acceptance where, for example:
- A product is unavailable
- There is an obvious pricing or description error
- We cannot manufacture the requested specification
- We cannot deliver to the required location
- Payment cannot be authorised
If we've taken payment but cannot accept your order, we'll refund the amount paid.
10. Lead times
Most Stow & Settle furniture is made to order.
Any lead time provided is an estimate unless we expressly agree a guaranteed date.
We'll make reasonable efforts to manufacture and deliver your furniture within the estimated timeframe.
If a significant delay occurs, we'll contact you.
Nothing in these terms is intended to remove any rights you may have where goods aren't supplied within an agreed or legally required timeframe.
11. Delivery
We offer delivery to eligible UK addresses.
Available delivery services, charges and estimated times will be shown during checkout or included in your quotation.
We'll contact you where necessary to arrange delivery of larger furniture.
You are responsible for providing an accurate delivery address and contact details.
12. Access to your property
Before ordering, please make sure the furniture can be delivered into its intended location.
Consider:
- Door widths and heights
- Hallways
- Staircases
- Lifts
- Corners and turns
- Ceiling heights
- Parking/access restrictions
- Narrow entrances
- Any other obstacles
Where seating is supplied in modules, you should still check that each module can safely reach the intended room.
Please tell us before ordering if your property has unusual or restricted access.
If delivery cannot reasonably be completed because of access restrictions that weren't disclosed to us, additional reasonable delivery or redelivery costs may apply.
13. On delivery
Please inspect the furniture as soon as reasonably practicable following delivery.
If there is visible transit damage, missing components or another apparent problem, please contact us promptly and provide photographs where possible.
Prompt notification helps us investigate the problem with the delivery provider and arrange an appropriate solution.
This does not affect your statutory rights.
14. Installation
Stow & Settle seating is designed to make installation straightforward, but the installation method varies according to the product and configuration.
Your furniture may use:
- Concealed access panels
- Access through drawer openings
- Module connectors
- Other appropriate concealed fixing methods
Please follow the installation guidance supplied with your order and our Installation Guide.
Bespoke seating may use a different installation method where appropriate to the configuration.
15. Cancellations and made-to-measure goods
For many online purchases, consumers have statutory cancellation rights. However, the Consumer Contracts Regulations include an exception from the usual cancellation right for goods made to the consumer's specifications or clearly personalised. Government implementation guidance specifically identifies bespoke and customised goods within this exception.
Accordingly, where your Stow & Settle furniture is genuinely manufactured to your specifications or clearly personalised, the usual statutory change-of-mind cancellation right may not apply.
This can include furniture manufactured to customer-specific dimensions or configurations.
This exception does not remove your rights where goods are faulty, not as described or otherwise fail to meet your statutory rights.
For products that aren't bespoke or personalised, any applicable statutory cancellation rights will continue to apply.
Please see our Returns & Cancellations Policy for full details.
If you want to change or cancel a bespoke order, contact us as quickly as possible. Where manufacture hasn't begun, we will consider what can reasonably be done.
We won't impose arbitrary or disproportionate cancellation charges. UK government guidance makes clear that consumer cancellation terms and retained payments must be fair.
16. Returns
Your return rights depend partly on whether your product is standard or genuinely made to your specifications.
Full details are provided in our Returns & Cancellations Policy.
Nothing in that policy or these terms affects your statutory rights relating to faulty, misdescribed or otherwise non-conforming goods.
17. Faulty products
Under UK consumer law, goods supplied to consumers must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described.
If you believe your furniture is faulty, contact us at:
Please provide your order number and, where practical, photographs or video showing the issue.
We'll investigate and explain the appropriate next steps.
Your statutory remedies aren't replaced or restricted by our commercial guarantee.
18. Our guarantees
Stow & Settle currently provides:
10-Year Structural Frame Guarantee
Covering qualifying defects in the structural frame.
2-Year Manufacturing & Mechanisms Guarantee
Covering qualifying manufacturing defects and mechanisms such as drawer runners and lift-up storage hardware.
These guarantees are subject to our Guarantee Terms.
They are provided in addition to your statutory rights and don't replace or restrict them.
19. Care and use
Furniture should be used for its intended purpose and in accordance with the care guidance supplied.
You should take reasonable care to protect furniture from:
- Excessive moisture
- Inappropriate heat sources
- Prolonged strong sunlight
- Unsuitable cleaning products
- Excessive loads
- Impact and misuse
Please refer to our care guidance for information about looking after your upholstery and furniture.
20. Drawer and storage clearance
It is your responsibility to consider how drawers, lift-up storage and other moving components will operate within your room when providing measurements or choosing a configuration.
For example, dining tables, neighbouring furniture or walls may affect the available drawer clearance.
Where relevant, we'll provide guidance about suitable storage arrangements, but please tell us about potential obstructions when requesting bespoke seating.
21. Changes to products
Because our products are manufactured using different materials and components, we may occasionally make minor changes to construction or specification.
Any change will not materially reduce the quality, functionality or appearance of the product you ordered.
Where a significant change is required after your order has been accepted, we'll contact you before proceeding where appropriate.
22. Our responsibility to you
We are responsible for losses you suffer that are a foreseeable consequence of us breaching our contract with you or failing to use reasonable care and skill, subject to applicable law.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so.
In particular, nothing in these terms is intended to exclude or restrict your statutory rights relating to faulty, misdescribed or unsuitable goods. Government guidance expressly warns businesses against terms that attempt to remove those responsibilities.
23. Events outside our reasonable control
Sometimes events outside our reasonable control may affect manufacturing or delivery.
These could include serious transport disruption, severe weather, supplier disruption or other events we couldn't reasonably prevent.
If this happens, we'll contact you where appropriate and take reasonable steps to minimise the effect on your order.
This provision doesn't remove any statutory rights you may have.
24. Personal information
We process personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
Please read that policy for information about what we collect, why we use it and your rights.
25. Website information
We take reasonable care to ensure information on our website is accurate.
If we discover an obvious pricing, specification or description error before accepting an order, we'll contact you and correct it.
Website photographs, room settings and illustrations may be used to demonstrate products and configurations and aren't necessarily to scale.
26. Complaints
If something hasn't gone as expected, please contact us so we can try to resolve the matter.
Email: hello@stowandsettle.co.uk
Please include your order number where applicable.
We'll aim to deal with complaints fairly and within a reasonable timeframe.
27. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time.
The terms that apply to your purchase will normally be those in effect when the relevant contract is formed, unless a change is required by law or agreed between us.
28. Governing law
These terms are governed by the applicable laws of England and Wales, subject to any mandatory consumer protections that apply to you based on where you live.
Nothing in this section deprives a consumer of protections they are entitled to under applicable law.
